Our commitment toward the environment
The Esprinet Group aims at affirming a culture of environmental sustainability, where respecting the environment is an essential value to promote a compatible lifestyle and a better future for everyone.
Every day we strive to protect the environment, through solutions that involve a more rational use of the resources available, and that ensure concrete energy savings.
During 2020, we laid the foundations to develop environmental-related activities, by pursuing the commercial program for the promotion of product categories with a higher energy efficiency that was launched in 2019, and also by commissioning an important analysis on CO2 emissions, aimed at launching a multi-year program to reduce emissions in 2021, which will amount for 20% of the three-year targets for long-term variable remuneration for the Group executive directors and higher management.

Energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions
The Esprinet Group’s total energy consumption has been reduced by 19% between 2019 and 2020 compared to the previous period (2018-2019), where a 0.9% reduction was recorded.
Natural gas, diesel, petrol and electricity are the energy sources used by the Group in its facilities.
Natural gas is used only in Italy for heating boilers, and in the Esprivillage, Brescia. Natural gas consumption for warehouse heating has decreased by 27%, also thanks to the investments made in the BMS platform, which controls and optimises the temperature sets and the boilers switch-on times.
Petrol and diesel (the latter in lower quantities) are used to power some generator units for fire-prevention control units and for the corporate vehicle fleet. In the period 2019-2020, a 40% reduction of diesel and a 33% reduction of petrol have been recorded.

Integrated Supply Chain
Esprinet activities are included within an articulated Supply Chain.

Transport emissions
Esprinet activities resorts to two types of transportation: direct deliveries, which concern good transportation from the Group’s warehouses to customers, with delivery vehicles and without intermediaries, and indirect deliveries, through main multinational couriers vehicles, with a stop at logistics hubs.
Group’s Supply Chain
The Esprinet Group deals with “business-to-business” technology distribution, acting as wholesale distributor of technological products along the IT supply chain.

Raw materials and Waste
Raw materials introduced in Esprinet Group’s supply chain mainly include: paper, cardboard, plastic, wood, and iron tips, used for product packaging.
Esprinet’s constant commitment to optimizing packaging allowed a total raw material reduction of 1.31% in the period 2019-2020.
Total waste increased by 15% compared to 2019, in line with business growth and related warehouse activities. Waste such as paper, cardboard and plastic produced by the offices and Cash & Carry units are not included, since they are disposed of through the municipal waste collection system. In recent years, Esprinet has been committed to reducing the quantity of paper generated, through substitute fiscal filing, which entails the digital filing of all documents.
